Attached are the photos of my WP but without any winter protection - Perhaps it has sussed out that this area is not so cold and so has decided the wax protection isnt necessary - Any comments from you end?
- Thanks for the photos. I must admit that the tree that I have in my garden in Somerset has not produced a Polar Cap this year and nor did it last year but in late May and into June it produced about 20cm of new growth from the apical bud. We have trees on the nursery that have produced large Polar Caps and those that haven’t produced anything at all even though they are all growing in exactly the same conditions. There is no rhyme or reason to the growth habits of the Wollemi Pine, each one is an individual it seems. From your photos the tree looks healthy and I am sure it will burst into life in the spring.
